God has placed me in some strange positions as of late...but out of those situations, deliverance came, and it's been amazing :). You see, a couple of weeks ago at Sunday night prayer, I lifted up the prayer for the Lord to show me what the root of my excessive behavior was and that he'd heal it. I've always known that I did things excessively to numb the pain in my life.
Well, strange things began to happen. First my Father got really sick again to the point of death - and out of that situation and a conversation with Oleg, I began to see a very real fear of not being protected in my life. Then I began to have problems with a guy on our team to the point where it felt like he was stalking me. And then another situation with another girl who was stalking me. I'm not paranoid, you can ask anyone and find out that these situations were VERY serious. I also had to preach at one point, and that was the moment that everything seemed to break. These situations no longer frightened me, and I realized that God was providing his supernatural protection for me - and suddenly I was no longer afraid.
And you know what happened then? I lost the craving for Mt. Dew. I haven't had one in two weeks - not even caffeine really, except for the green tea I've been drinking - I've heard it's good for you so I'm trying to drink that instead. And I'm hardly even finishing my food. Normally I'll wolf down 3 pieces of pizza, and suddenly I find myself only able to eat 1 1/2 - and I'm not obsessing over my next meal anymore. I hardly even think about eating! And I feel a change on the inside. God has truly done something different in me - and my pants are fitting differently :).
So I'm still trying to get up and walk in the mornings and memorize scripture - however, I've been staying out late with Wendy and Nick and sometimes Lorna, so that keeps me from doing it and getting to prayer :(. So I say again, I've got to be more responsible with that.
And I'm still sick as a dog! *argh* My throat is even worse after last night's concert. It went extremely well, by the way, but I think I may have already blogged that?? I don't know - but I tried to sing at church today and sounded like a braying donkey *grin*. And I'm almost all out on my voice. So now I have to be silent and let my vocal folds heal *sigh*. It's hard to be a talker and verbal expressor...and then suddenly not be able to do anything :(.
Well, hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I certainly did :). I'm sure I'll be posting more either tonight or tomorrow. But I have a meeting in the morning for the Disaster relief. Oh, and I think I might have said this, too, but Cheryl turned in her resignation. The Salvation Army is going to be a strange place after the 7th of October *sigh*.
Ta Ta for now ;).
