Anyway, I’ve been in meetings all morning anyway. It was the worst thing in the world that I’ve ever seen – we’re at a Disaster Task Force meeting for the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, and a good majority of the people there are worried too much about their fragile egos to get anything accomplished. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was sad, really. We could have gotten a lot more done if:
- The one pastor wasn’t out to make a name for himself by looking as if he was heading up all of the efforts – when he only made an idiot out of himself because he didn’t know what he was talking about – which became VERY evident.
- The county and city government officials would be more proactive instead of being cushy in their jobs. They refuse to see the problems and want to just wait for things to hit.
Yet, you can’t speak up and say anything because if you do, you could burn a bridge and get blackballed later when you truly need something *sigh*. It’s ridiculous. If people would leave their egos and agendas at the door, a lot more people could get helped – but who am I?
