This has probably been the hardest week of my life. What I can't believe is that at approximately 5:00 pm this day, my father will have been dead for a full week. How did this week fly by so fast? Part of me is thankful, part of me just wants to stay here at the house and simply mourn. I don't want to go back to school - to have to try and concentrate on work when my heart continually feels the void of his absence seems too much to bear.
But I can't fault God :) - he has been amazingly merciful in this situation - he knew that he had to take my father home - that his body could no longer take the stress, yet God made it as easy as he possibly could. I'm certain that the Lord gave us an extra month with Dad - so that we could talk to him through the holidays. He passed away ten days after his 67th birthday. Some would say this is too young, and I'd have to agree in so many ways - but God's ways are not my ways, and I know Dad is better off where he is right now.
Dad can see, he can walk, he can even eat food again and enjoy it...something he hasn't been able to do in 3 years. Almost 3 years, shy of about a week and a half.
I couldn't sleep on Saturday - it was crazy...and Sunday, trying to do my work, after having a wonderful time eating out with friends from church, I get the fateful call from mom.
God, please help my family and I during this time. This is so hard.
