I thought I already posted this one...

So far, this blogging by word thing works out well...except for the fact that it puts up some generic color…I like the different colors I get to use when on the site.  What else can I whine about??

WELL GOOD MORNING!!  Today started off early for me so far – ribbon cutting for the new Food Lion store – extremely disorganized and uneventful – except for the fact that the guy just handed me, a “valuable customer,” a pair of scissors and said, “HERE – YOU cut it…” no one took pictures or anything.  *laugh*  That simply cracks me up…

Anyway, I got back and had to do a phone interview with Greg Crabtree with 103.3 The Cross radio…the local Christian station – dealing with the emergency disaster services we have and what the media can do to help and the like – and as usual, the best thing to do is send monetary donations.  A lot of people don’t like to hear that, and would rather gather supplies – but they don’t realize how impractical that is – the disaster areas are FLOODED – which means there is NO WAREHOUSE SPACE to put the stuff they want to collect.  There are only one or two roads open to get there right now, so it would cost us more money to take the supplies and get a truck down there and then find the space to store it than to actually give the money to the people that need it and let them boost their economy for buying the supplies they need.  But people don’t think of those things…and they’re generally untrustworthy when it comes to people taking their money.  I can understand – I would be too.

Anyway, I may be fed up with people here in my individual work place, but the organization as a whole does an amazing amount to help … that’s why I’m still here – I believe in the mission as a whole and people are still getting helped.

Okay, better do the deposit…more soon….
